Filming Blog: Commercial

Image
Heyyyy guys, I'm back to tell you how how my commercial is coming along. I started filming my first parts of the commercial on Thursday October 29, 2020. My actors and I first met up at my house and went over  the day's plan. Once they got there, I realized one of the actors were wearing a hoodie, which isn't exactly working out clothing. However, since working out clothing could be considered more of whatever the person feels comfortable in, as the producer, I decided that if that's what he was most comfortable in he could wear it. Other than that, there was nothing else wrong and we made our way to Mickel field park.  Once we got there however we came across a problem, there was no track. As the producer it was my job to quickly find a ne location to shoot the clips in. My second choice was recording at school, Fort Lauderdale High School. However, with the track team and other sports teams already practicing at the school I didn't want to interrupt their practic...

Storyboard blog: Commercial

Image
Hey guys, I'm back and today I'll be sharing my storyboard plan for my up coming commercial ad for Gatorade. Like I've said before this commercial will include two sports, swimming and track. Throughout the commercial as seen on my storyboard, I will be using different transitions to move from scene to scene. The beginning of the commercial will be a track shot of the actors walking through a store to buy the product. Once they reach the product I will zoom into a two shot of the actors drinking the product. Than I will insert a transition to move to the swimming scene. The swimming scene will start with an over the shoulder shot of an actor looking inside of the fridge looking for the product. The type of view will change into a close up shot. During this close up shot I will put it into a slow motion view of the actor drinking the Gatorade.  After this close shot I will add another transition to move the audience back to the actors on the track. I've decided to inse...

Planning Blog: Commercial

Image
Hey guys, I'm back with another blog. I plan on showing two different story lines. One story line will follow 2 track stars whereas the second storyline will be about swimmers. The actors for the track portion of the commercial will be seen on the track for majority of the shoot. They will be seen interacting before running and seen running.  However there will be a clip where they are seen at the store buying the product, Gatorade, after they are done racing. These actors will be wearing tights, leggings, or gym shorts paired with a t-shirt. If their hair is long it will either be put in a ponytail or wearing a headband so the hair could be out their face. The swimming clips will only take place in a pool. These actors will be wearing bathing suits, swimming caps and they maybe wearing swimming goggles. On October 22, 2020, I started my research. On October 23, 2020, I finished my research and planned out the commercial. On October 27, 2020 , I plan on recording all the track clip...

Research blog: Commercial

Image
Hey guys, I'm back with another blog. When I found out I had to do a commercial million of ideas came to mind. I than shortened the list to sport drinks, however, choosing which kind of sport drink was a no brainer. What better brand to do than Gatorade. Before starting my Gatorade commercial, I did some research on what other producer have done in sports drink commercials. Majority of the commercials the actors are partaking in physical activity.  The Mise-en-Scène in each commercial are very similar, the costumes consist of tennis shoes, leggings, tights, shorts, a sports bra, loose t-shirt, bathing suit or a sports teams uniform. The settings are sometime, inside of the gym, or outside on the court or field. Props are usually simple things like a ball, football, basketball etc. , a towel and the drink.  Based on the setting of the commercial, the lighting changes. The drink usually look real cold and icy. While the actor looks hot and sweaty. Some other conventio...
