CCR: Music Video

  How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? During the research blog I learned and realized  many conventions that were followed throughout several music videos. These are tactics, skills, etc that are incorporated into music videos. Rather if it’s small details like their hair, shoes or a big detail like the thing they are doing. When discussing the vision we had for the music video we decided to stray away from how Destiny Child’s did it. They sat down at a meeting table with multiple other women to show women being in charge. We wanted to show more than the idea of women being independent so we did what they were showing in the television screens behind them.   Welcome back, after going through all the other steps with us, it's only fair you get to see the finished product.  This blog is to  talk about more thoughts that went through our heads   when making this  video.  One  thing my  group mates  and I could proudly say is that it did not turn out bad.  We realized that things may not always happen the way you plan  them,  so you  must always  have a backup plan just in ca se.   This video was a success  in  many ways .   This video pushed us to learn new skills.  We were able to keep each other on top of our work and getting things done on time.  We made a great team.  Working on a task together with friends  ma de  the task way more enjoyable.  The workload  and stress  are  also dimmed down if the work is split correctly.  We didn’t want one group member to have a heavier workload than another. ...

Filming blog 2 : Music video

Hey guys, back with part 2 of my filming blog. Last blog I described how the scenes taken at the mall were taken. This blog will be about the other scenes, like the ones where the actors were at work, and the track. Like we put on the storyboard, when recording the scenes taken at Lotus Chinese Kitchen we started with a reverse zoom. Several clips were taken there of the actor doing different tasks. These later came in good use when editing the video together. One of them was a tracking of the actor walking towards the table with the POV of the customers. The ones taken at the track of the actor running were shot at a low angle. The dancing videos where taken standing across the dancers. These shots showed different situations where the woman were independent and didn't depend on people. The actor at the mall purchased her own meal. The dancer were an all girls group.
